We're in California!!!!

So, we made it here to California on September 30th. Our first view of the place was hard to tell because we got in so late that night..... Since then, we have rented a car and ventured around the area some and we think we are really going to like it here. We are currently staying in billeting but we have found us a 3br 2ba house with a fenced in yard for the dog. We put up a deposit on the house but are waiting to improcess with housing before we can move in it. I am so excited! The area around base doesn't seem to be as horrible as people told me it was. Right now fall is in the air and it feels great..no humidity!! Our skin has dried out since we have been here so we have to keep lotion and chapstick on and I have to use a lot of eye drops to keep my contacts moisturized...other than that, it's great!

On our way to California we had a layover in Chicago for a few hours..it wasn't enough time to leave the airport and look around so I snapped a few pics from the plane.

Oprahs studio is down there somewhere among those tall buildings
